Roof renovation grant
The Dutch government wants to encourage individuals in our country to invest in energy-saving measures on the home. These investments also have a longer-term effect on the environment and are therefore rewarded with a subsidy. Various roof works are eligible for such or alternative subsidies. You can read more about the different types of subsidies and how they work on this page.

Reduced VAT rate
Are you going to have work done on your roof without investing in energy-saving measures? If so, there are still some financial windfalls you can enjoy. The first is the reduced VAT rate for homes older than 2 years. Because of this measure, you will pay only 9% VAT on labor costs instead of 21% VAT. This will save you significantly on the total amount.
Municipal grant for roof renovation
If you are having work done on your roof, but do not wish to invest in energy-saving measures in the process, a municipal subsidy is available for your roof renovation. Please note that not every municipality offers such a subsidy and possible subsidy amounts can differ from one municipality to another. Make sure you find out in advance whether a municipal subsidy for roof renovation is available and what the requirements are.
