This process is repeated until the bottom of the chimney is reached.
Chimney sweeping from bottom to top
With this technique, a brush is attached to an extendable stick. Piece by piece, the soot in your chimney is sanded off using this stick incl. brush. When the top of the chimney is reached, the work is complete.
Cleaning chimney with a block
There are different blocks available that should be used to clean the chimney. You place these blocks in your chimney and burn them up. The smoke and substances released should cause the soot particles and dirt in the chimney to loosen and fall down on their own.
The efficacy of these cleaning blocks has not yet been demonstrated, and our experienced roofers rigorously question whether this cleaning method is sufficient vs. actual cleaning by hand.
